We do not turn back
We do not turn back.
The wind has teeth now. It howls low and constant, trying to pry the fragile case from our grip the way it strips the dunes bare. Sand grinds against every seam of the suit, against the very air we breathe. Visibility drops to a few dozen meters of swirling orange nothing. The chiral storm is alive — it remembers every path we’ve walked and tries to unmake them.
But our hand stays locked around the yellow handle.
We carry it by hand because some things are too delicate, too important, to be left to anything but our own living grip.
We can no longer see the last set of footprints we left.
The storm has already erased them.
That is fine.
We are not walking to be remembered by the ground.
We are walking because the cargo still needs to arrive.
The wind tries to strip the world bare.
It can take the horizon.
It can take the certainty.
It cannot take the next deliberate step we choose to take.
We keep the package close to our chest.
We breathe through the grit.
We plant our feet on the shifting dune that tries to become a wave beneath us.
One more delivery.
Handled with the same care that refuses to let go.
We press forward.
Deeper into the orange violence.
Deeper into whatever waits on the other side of this storm.
Because some cargo is more than weight.
It is the last thread still connecting this broken world.
We still carry it.
Keep on keepin’ on.
