The threshold.

Pause here. Breathe. No agenda. No rush.

The long journey home has already begun — the same journey that once paused on the Platform with cargo secured, black coffee and cryptobiote in hand… the same journey that savored Kyoto station udon and Hakata soba shoulder-to-shoulder with fellow travelers… the same journey that watched the sleek white Kamome Shinkansen ready for the open rails and chose, again, to let it stay.

Yet here, at this exact threshold where tarmac meets jet bridge, the Afterstring still refuses to dissolve. The plane waits, engines humming, mountains and city lights holding their steady heartbeat in the distance. Backpack loaded with cargo, camera across my chest, ready to move forward.

This is the porter’s moment: not to cling, but to carry forward with discretion and with love. The world may begin to blur once more, but the bend in reality remembers every rail we’ve ridden, every bowl we’ve savored, every step still ahead.

The journey continues.

We stopped.

We stayed.

And now we go.
