The Christian path is participation: adopted into the household of God and thereby made capable of the Love that is no longer imitation but the real life of a new creation.
That Love is the one Scripture names—patient, kind, keeping no record of wrongs, always protecting, always trusting, always hoping, always persevering (1 Corinthians 13). It is the Love that “endures forever,” repeated twenty-six times in Psalm 136, and the Love spoken after the tablets broke: “The LORD, the LORD, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in Love and faithfulness” (Exodus 34:6). God is Love (1 John 4:8). Authentic life is not the performance of niceness; it is being drawn into that life so the virtues cease to be external effort and become the form of the person’s existence →∞❤️
