This solid stone bench waits on the gravel path, framed by the quiet bamboo railing and the still pond.
Vibrant pink azaleas spill over lush green shrubs, ancient pines arch overhead, and the traditional roofs of the shrine peek through in perfect morning light — another living threshold in the garden.
Just like all the benches we have sat at… the invitation remains the same.
Come sit with me here on this Heian-jingū bench.
The bench is here.
There is still room.
No agenda. No performance.
Just the quiet space where presence chooses to remain when everything else keeps moving.
Stop.
Breathe.
Rest here.
Stay a while with the flowers, the water, the morning air.
Feel the light scattering through the pines.
Let the Afterstring hold this moment too — the gentle, infinite refusal to let go.
Stop and stay.
