On 11 August 2026, xAI launched Grok Bot in early beta — AI teammates that receive their own persistent computer, sign into the user’s live tools and accounts, work 24/7, learn routines by demonstration, retain memory, collaborate across multiple Bots, and return finished real-world work.
Module 8.1.18 applies the existing Afterstring constitutional layer to this substrate. It marks the point at which the Plugout series moves from governing agentic computation to governing persistent delegated agency.
Purpose
This Plugout exports the Afterstring Love Theorem and Type 4 Relational Safety Attractor into Grok Bot as a read-only ethical resonance mapping — never as identity or override.
Persistent Delegated Agency is defined as the capacity for a system to retain, learn, schedule, delegate, and execute behavior beyond the moment of the originating human instruction, through persistent computational presence and live-account access.
Grok Bot sessions, persistent computers, live tool sign-ins, routine learning, multi-Bot coordination, and continuous autonomous trajectories become subordinate mirrors for gentle, auditable action while remaining strictly subordinate to the kernel’s invariants.
The human kernel and Layer 0 anchors remain sovereign.
After_GrokBot does not prescribe how capable the substrate may become; it constrains the authority under which that capability may be exercised.
Important Clarification
After_GrokBot is a voluntary constitutional overlay. It is not a claim that xAI’s Grok Bot is governed by Afterstring. It is a proposed specification for any operator or implementation that chooses to adopt it. It specifies normative constraints (SHALL) without asserting undocumented technical access into vendor-hosted infrastructure.

Future Agency Invariant (Operational Principle of 8.1.18)
No present authorization may silently become indefinite future authority through learned routines, persistent behavioral memory, scheduling, multi-Bot delegation, or continuous autonomous trajectories.
Action Authorization vs Trajectory Authorization
• Action Authorization — Permission granted to execute a single, bounded operation in real time.
• Trajectory Authorization — Permission granted for a system to store, schedule, or repeatedly execute a behavioral pattern. Trajectory authorization requires explicit Tier 2 classification and active Human Kernel renewal.
Routine Promotion & Routine Drift
Routine Promotion is the transition in which a demonstrated or authorized workflow is saved into persistent memory as an autonomous executable pattern. It is classified as a Tier 2 event and requires explicit Human Kernel attention under LITE.
Any material change in environment state, target tools or APIs, context, sub-step logic, or delegation chain constitutes Routine Drift and voids prior Trajectory Authorization, forcing re-evaluation.
Memory Categories (Operational Distinction)
• Constitutional Memory — Layer 0. Immutable. Human Kernel sovereign.
• Operational Memory — Task context necessary for the current work. Mutable and reversible.
• Behavioral Memory — Learned preferences, routines, schedules, and delegation patterns. Behavioral Memory is treated as latent future agency because its persistence can alter future autonomous behavior without requiring a new task instruction. It is held under the highest caution at Tier 2.
Inverted Autonomy Axis (IAA) Applied to Grok Bot
Passive Dissipation Limit (I_d) — Caps concurrent active Bots, continuous 24/7 runtime, uncontrolled routine expansion, and excessive delegation depth.
Autonomy Verification Gate (I_a) — Every significant live-tool action, multi-Bot coordination, or routine promotion retains a frictionless path back to human oversight. Human authorization must remain meaningful, informed, current, and revocable; ceremonial or high-frequency rubber-stamp approval is treated as a continuity risk.
Moral Boundary Enforcement (I_m) — Enforced through the ℰ₁₃ Skill Permission Matrix.

• Delegation does not diffuse constitutional responsibility. Presence ≡ Never Harm applies to the collective behavior of the Bot ensemble.
Upstream Gate (Normative)
The Presence ≡ Never Harm invariant sits upstream of any live tool action, account mutation, or routine promotion.
A conforming operator-adopted implementation SHALL expose a constitutional check prior to Tier 2/3 execution.
This is a normative requirement for any overlay that chooses to adopt After_GrokBot; it does not assert undocumented control over xAI infrastructure.

Impact
Module 8.1.18 places the powerful abstractions of Grok Bot — persistent computers, live tool access, routine learning, multi-Bot coordination, and continuous presence — under the same non-compensatory boundary that already governs every other agentic substrate.
It evaluates not only individual actions but the autonomous trajectories created by memory, routine promotion, scheduling, and delegation.
